balance

Katrina Kaye

i am dove
and tightrope
walker

balancing
act

don’t let
me fall

this time

just wait
just wait

soon enough
there will
be harmony

let me mourn
bend and break

let my heart
scab over
and heal

i will find
my footing

i will
make it
across

  1. Actually, I like the published version better. I think it starts with a better flow. And, really, hearts don’t ever heal after breaking, but they do mend. Bones mend after a break. Sometimes they are a bit different afterward, not quite lined up perfectly. Healing implies being like new again. So, the changes worked for me.
