With each piece of writing I share, I hold the belief that there is already someone waiting for it somewhere. Whether that reader arrives by chance or by intention, the poem waits patiently for recognition, for the moment when its language, emotion, or silence mirrors something unspoken in another person.
These poems are not meant to persuade or explain, but to be encountered. I want these poems to find their audience: to inspire, to encourage, to be read, pondered, and discussed, even if only by a few. I want people to read a poem, not just for entertainment, but to make a personal connection.
I am well aware that freely sharing one’s art is not how fame or fortune is achieved, but the goals I have do not follow a capitalistic form of expression which keeps pieces of art obscured until they are monetarily compensated. The compensation I am most interested in at this point in my life is connection and purpose.
The poems published on this website are an offering rather than a conclusion. In placing them into the world, I allow them to move beyond me: to find the reader who needs them, understands them, or simply meets them at the right time. If a poem resonates, even briefly, then it has found its reader, and its purpose is fulfilled.
Friends, if a poem does resonate with you, if it has found its reader and fulfills its purpose, please consider leaving a comment so that the poem knows. Thank you!
Happy reading.
